This is possibly the most annoying bug that exists in all PCs. Honestly no matter what version of Windows you are using, they all have, and this process is not just for the blue screen error Windows XP. You can follow these steps to try to repair the problem in any version of Windows.

Step 1: Check your registration

The Windows Registry is where all important data is most software programs, Windows help the hardware for  interaction. The file may be corrupt, the big, or lose the information needed to perform important tasks.

If this happens it can cause the blue screen error to occur. The average PC user will probably not have any idea what to do to fix these problems themselves. Fortunately there is software registry repair that will automate the process.

Start by downloading a trial version for free from any utility or mechanical scanning or Reg Cure. Both programs will scan your entire registry and let you know if you have any errors on your machine.

This saves you from spending money before we know for sure if you have a problem or not.

Depending on the test results you may want to pay for the registered edition repair the items found. This is more often then not the cause of blue screen error.

Step 2: Virus Scan and Adware

If you have completed step 1 and not much has changed, then it is time to give this a try. Using your virus removal and adware (if any, if not GriSoft visit to AVG Free and AdAware Free Lavasoft).

These explorations will take a little longer than the registry cleaner scan, but analyzes each corner of your hard drive.

It’s not often that a virus causes a blue screen, but possible. Scanning with these two pieces of software is something you should do once a week or month.

Step 3: Elimination Program and Re-Installation

If steps 1 and 2 have not made any progress with the blue screen error Windows XP is the time for some more drastic measures.

For starters, make sure you have activated Restore Windows and have a set of current restore points. This is outside the scope of this article, but a necessity before proceeding.

Once you’ve done this, take note if the blue screen is happening almost always, while using the same program (s). If it is, and more often, head to your control panel. We will remove and reinstall the application (s) that is causing the blue screen.

Sometimes a corrupted or not a particular program can cause this. If this is the case, then there is no other solution than fixing then file or application. With most of this software requires a full installation, and before reinstalling to avoid causing must remove registry errors.

NOTE: Before doing this, make sure you have the CD, DVD, or downloaded files available to install the program after you remove it.

This process must correct the error once and for all. If it is the last chance is a system reset or a big bill for a repair. None of these is attractive, but if I had to choose one I try to restore the system itself. Just before all that is important to back up before formatting the hard disk and reinstall Windows and all programs.
