I’ve tried to install Windows XP next to Windows Vista (pre-installed) on a seperate partition.
After the Windows XP CD has copied the initial to the new partition, it reboots, and says that there is a boot error.
Does somebody know how to fix this?

yur supposed to install xp first, then vista second.
you could try booting off the vista dvd and select repair then startup repair
you could try vistabootpro free software
google: dual boot xp vista
Did you install a boot manager, like GRUB to handle the boot sequence?? If not the BIOS has no idea as to what OS to load…
find GRUB here…

Good luck!
You’ll need to fix Vista’s bootloader.
Follow these instructions:

Un-install Vista then install XP. Wait for service pack 77 for Vista then reinstall. Just joking, XP first then Vista. Seems you need to install the older O/S first even with a WIN 2000 / XP setup. But some of my friends have problems with dual O/S on their systems and have gone to one or the other, not both. Make sure it’s a Windows boot error not a boot virus.
