What is this Windows Vista error message: Windows Update error 80073712?

Today I tried to update my computer with the Windows Vista Updates released. However when the computer began to install one of the updates it said that is failed and it gave me the error code 80073712. There are no entries about this error code in Windows Help and Support and I can’t find anything online. Any ideas? The update I tried to install was: Update for Windows Vista (KB932246).

Do you have Windows Defender Installed? Its been known to cause problems with Windows Updates.

The support on Vista is terrible as of late.. The OS hasn’t been out long enough, heh.

It’s probably being blocked by a firewall.. or your OS isn’t legal, or something.

hhmm,I too have vista, and downloaded that update just this morning, and it worked just fine. I also have window’s defender on and it didnt interupt the download. I dont know, maybe try turning off your firewall and defender if you have it and try again. Good luck, sorry I wasnt of much help. I will try and find out too and if I find a solution I will let you know.
