you can run a different operating system and even install ubuntu. it’s a type of linux/unix and can be used as a server

Can you get the error? IT usually looks like this

0X0000000 (the 0s can have numbers 0-9 and letters a-f)

This code will tell you what is wrong. Google the error code (like the example above) and you will be given A LOT of info. I”m a technician. I don’t know them by heart but I search on Google with that code and find out.

depends what the blue screen error is and when it comes. Have you tried starting the pc in safe mode? If that works then the problem is almost certainly a driver. e-mail me if you need further guidance,

Blue screen of death can be hardware or software related. But most likely software. You can try booting into safe mode to start. You can also use a boot up floppy disk. Once you get it up in safe mode you have to figure out the problem. As someone else suggested you can also put a flavor of Linux on it, if you don’t mind losing the data on it.

Call Dell’s Technical Support. I’ve had really good luck working with them.

    What does the error say….?

Check if you have a Dell Diagnostics disk..If so run the test…If not check if it in preinstalled…(reboot-when the Dell logo appears tap F12…

Dell usually has diagnostic lights on either the front of your tower or back…Check these in your manual..If no manual go to Dell (link below) support…Your manual is available there…You will also want to check for any updates for your drivers/bios etc while there…..

You should also try to go into safe mode (reboot…As computer starts and before windows screen shows tap F8, Highlight ’safe mode’ and click enter)

Does it still happen in safe mode?

Check event viewer and see what errors you are getting…To get to event viewer,…right click on ‘my computer’ click ‘manage’ click ‘event viewer’…Check under ‘applications’ and ’system’. Errors will be marked with a red x….Double click on an error…this will bring up the properties box and give you more info….

Without the error code there is not much more anyone can help you with….Did you recently download anything…If so uninstall it…
