Troubleshooting Lexmark Drivers Problems – What to Do When You Printer Acts Up

The printer is something that is quite important to people who are working from home, or when they need to do something and print it out. The technology of the printer is something that has come a long way, and back in the day, it was actually quite hard for anyone to print something from their home. Printers back then were quite big and clunky and they were quite expensive to bring over to your home and this meant that people were depending on the print shops to get something done, or if they needed some printing, they would be doing it in the comfort of their own office.

Not only was this much easier, but much cheaper as well. Now, however, the technology of the printer has come a long way and companies like Lexmark have brought their printers into many homes all over the world. But of course the picture is not always perfect and sometimes technology allows the odd error or two.

One common problem that people do face when it comes to printers is that sometimes the printer acts up and you see the common exclamation point error notice when you do try to print something. The all dependable printer suddenly becomes dead and the lights blink for no reason what so ever. So why is there a problem in the first place and what can you do to alleviate this problem. Well, for one thing, what you need to understand is that there are many ways for you to approach this problem, and this can range from hardware to software.

Hardware problems are pretty easy to spot and a problem with the mechanism of the printer is something that you most likely would not be able to fix on your own. Unless you would like the problem to increase and most likely electrify yourself, then I would advise that you send back the printer to the merchant who sold it to you in the first place. Now, if the problem is a software problem, then you would be looking at the drivers of the printer. One way you can address the issue easily is to do a simple reinstall of the product, and this requires that you remove its hardware signature from the computer, restart then do a clean install with the drivers given to you.

Now, there is a second part to this problem, and the problem could be because of the fact that the drivers are outdated and they have come into conflict with other softwares or even drivers newly installed. When this happens, what you need to do is to actually update these drivers on your own, and this can be easily achieved with a simple visit to the product’s website and downloading the drivers which would be the most updated ones. These are some of the things you can do when your printer acts up and these are proven methods to fix the issue, right in the comforts of your own home.

Three Simple Rules: If You Have a Website – Make Sure it is Free of Errors

Authored by Shakira Brown, Co-Founder of Best Business Mastery LLC

When I learn about a new company, the first thing I do is go to the company website.  I  recently was checking out the wesbite of a printing company who wanted my business. I clicked a link to the website from the email I received from the print shop. The company’s website looked modern, it was clean and looked good.

Just as I was starting to feel good about the printing company and its fabulous pricing, my eyes wandered to the upper right corner of the company’s home page. There was a decently designed logo. But because I have an eye for detail, I looked closer. To my horror, I saw a typo in the tagline of the logo. The tagline read “Pint with Confidence. Print with Us” Pint? Is this also an ice cream shop? No – the word in the tagline should have been PRINT! Hello Printing – is the business. Obviously, I do not have any confidence in a printer that cannot produce a logo with confidence. Oh and this mistake is in the live text on the home page and appears as the first line of text that generates in search engine results. A website mistake like the one described is like throwing money in the trash.

How could this be? How could a business owner have a company website longer than a week and not notice that his very own logo and first line of text has typos?

My first reaction was that the owner of this small business entrusted the design of the website and logo to someone that he or she felt was capable. But why wouldn’t this owner not thoroughly examine the final website before launching it or take a look at it once and a while? Or worse, that the owner employs people that are not detailed oriented haven’t noticed the typos either. Unfortunately, many small business owners do not understand the value of a website. A website represents what your company is and what your company stands for. It is working hard for you 24 hours a day represents your company when after normal business hours.

As a buyer of print services, I look for a printer that produces an excellent final product. That means printed materials free of errors caused by the printer. Once a printing company sent me a proof to approve with half of my client’s company logo cutoff. When it comes to printed materials I am a stickler. (Well – anyone would be angry about a logo being cutoff!) But there is never an excuse for giving poor quality work to a customer to approve – never.

Obviously, I will not entrust my print job to a printer that has a serious typo in its own logo. If the owner or even the employees of the print shop haven’t noticed an error in its logo or tagline on the site, how will they see errors in my print job? This is the rationale that any smart, detailed-oriented business leader would have in this situation.

Companies that have a website should follow these three simple rules:

1. Keep your site up-to-date: Don’t walk away from your website once it is built. Small businesses need not have fresh posts to the company website every day. However, a fresh customer testimonial, updates about services or new clients is nice to add to the home page.

2. Check for typos and misspellings: Have your websites reviewed for errors by fresh eyes. Your webmaster and designer will more than likely miss a few typos. (No one is perfect, neither are we!)

3. Treat your website as part of your brand: Your website is an extension of your business and brand. If you change the branding of your business make sure it is translated on your website. Most importantly, if you offer an email address on your site for customer comments and questions, make sure you respond promptly as you would if the customer walked into your establishment.

Nobody will ever say that running your own small business is easy. If you pay attention to the details in all aspects of your business and you will never lose a customer like myself. Don’t let website typographical errors or other nonsense not directly related to the quality of your product or service ruin a potential business relationship.

Printer Spooler Error in Windows XP

Printer is a peripheral device which produces a hard copy of documents stored in electronic form, usually on physical print media such as paper or transparencies. Printers can directly interface to electronic media such as memory sticks or memory cards, or to image capture devices such as digital cameras, scanners. Some printers are combined with a scanners and/or fax machines in a single unit, and can function as photocopiers. A lot of users have experienced printer spooler error in Microsoft Windows XP. Here we will know how to resolve the printer issues in Windows XP by following these steps:–

Symptoms:–

1. Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close.

2. When you click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes to try to view your printers, no printers appear. This issue may occur even if you have a printer installed.

3. Operation could not be completed.

The Reason:–

Generally this type of issue occurs if a third-party printer driver or a third-party service that is installed, prevents you from adding printers, or if the third-party printer driver or the third-party service affects the functionality of a newly installed printer.

Troubleshooting Steps:–

Step 1:– Turn off Lexmark print service

If the Lexmark print service is installed on your computer, turn off the LexBce Server service. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.

2. Expand Services and Applications, and then click Services.

3. In the details pane, right-click LexBce Server, and then click Properties.

4. On the General tab in the Startup type list, click Disabled.

5. Under Service status, click Stop, and then click OK.

6. Right-click the Print Spooler service, and then click Start (if it is stopped).

7. Exit Computer Management.

Step 2:–Start the computer in safe mode

Start the computer in safe mode so that you can remove spool files. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot menu appears.

2. Select Safe Mode when the Windows Advanced Options menus appear, and then press ENTER.

3. If the Boot menu appears again and you are prompted to select the Microsoft operating system on the computer, use the arrow keys to select the operating system, and then press ENTER.

Step 3:– Now delete spool printer and driver files

In safe mode, delete the spool printer and driver files. To do this, start Microsoft Windows Explorer, and then delete all the files and the folders in the following two folders:–

1. C:WindowsSystem32SpoolPrinters

2. C:WindowsSystem32SpoolDriversw32×86

Step 4:– Remove registry entries for printer drivers

Remove the potentially problematic printer driver subkeys, which may be interfering with the printer you want to use. These may have been installed by third-party printer setup programs. Use the following steps to keep the printer driver and registry entries that came with Windows on your computer and remove all others that may be causing issues.

Step 5:– Third, remove registry entries for default print monitors

Remove the potentially problematic print monitor sub keys, which may be interfering with the printer you want to use. These may have been installed by third-party printer setup programs. Use the following steps to keep the print monitors and registry entries that came with Windows and remove all others that may be causing issues. If you have a printer attached to the computer, disconnect the printer cable from the computer, and then restart the computer.

Step 6:– Now verify that the print spooler service is running

1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.

2. Expand Services and Applications, and then click Services.

3. In the details pane, right-click the Print Spooler service, and then click Start (if it is stopped).

4. Exit Computer Management.

Step 7:– Finally, add a printer and print a test page

If you have a printer attached, reconnect the printer cable to the computer, install the printer by adding it to the computer through the Add Printer Wizard, and then try to print a test page. To install the printer you want, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.

2. Click Add a printer. The Add Printer Wizard starts.

3. Print a test page to make sure that you can print.

Powis Parker Fastback P31 PowisPrinter Keyboard Error Messages

One of the great things about the Fastback PowisPrinter is that it has an LCD display on the keyboard included with the printer. This LCD allows you to choose all sorts of options and makes the printer capable of producing printed titles without the need for a computer.

However, the LCD also serves as a message board that tells operators when there are problems with the printer. This article will list the different Error messages that are commonly displayed on the PowisPrinter LCD and will provide you with a quick explanation of their meaning.

Error #1: Please Remove Strip From Feed Entry This error is usually caused by a chute jam. Your strip may have been loaded incorrectly or might have become skewed as it entered the feed chute. Remove your strip, check the chute and try again.

Error #2: Strip Loading Error – Please Remove the Strip and Try Again This error has the same meaning as error #1. Remove the strip, check the feed chute for a potential jam and try feeding the strip again.

Error #3: Cartridge Empty – Please Insert A New One This error simply means that you need to insert a new foil cartridge into the printer in order to continue.

Error #4: Strip Too Short – Minimum Strip Length is 8.25 Inches If you are trying to print a strip that has been cut down to a length shorter than 8.25 inches the machine will not work. Use a longer strip and then cut it afterwards if necessary. If you get this error when printing a strip longer than 8.25 inches long you will most likely need a service call to replace a damaged sensor.

Error #5: Strip Too Long – Maximum Strip Length is 14.0 Inches This error can occur if you attempt to print a 14-7/8″ long strip. If you get this error when you are printing a strip less than 14 inches long you will most likely need a service call to replace a damaged sensor.

Error #6: Wrong Strip Width This message is simply telling you that you are inserting the wrong strip width into the machine. When designing your strip you can tell the PowisPrinter the number of pages, thickness in inches or thickness in mm. The PowisPrinter will choose the correct size of strip according to these settings. If you want to use another strip size you will need to change this setting in your strip design.

Error #7: Hatch Open – Remove the Strip before Closing This message is usually telling you that there is a hatch jam that needs to be fixed before you can proceed with the printing. Open the hatch, fix the jam and try printing again.

Error #8: Strip Jammed: Open Hatch and Remove This error message has the same meaning as error #7. Remove the jammed strip and try printing again.

Error #9: Cartridge Door Open – Close Door to Resume This means that the side door on the unit is open or not completely latched. Close the door and you should be able to proceed.

Error #10: Operation Printhead Is Too Hot – Wait 5 Minutes This error can occur after prolonged printing with the PowisPrinter. You will need to wait for the printhead to cool down before proceeding. Maybe it is time for a coffee break.

Rectifying “Resource Not Owned” Error Message in Windows

To add a new hardware to your system, you need to install a device driver for that particular hardware device. While installing a compatible device driver allows the operating system to communicate with the hardware, an incompatible or corrupted device driver installation can result into a STOP error message. Data saved in your system becomes inaccessible after you encounter a STOP error message. For complete restoration of lost data, an updated backup acts as a boon. However, in absence of an updated backup, you need to use advanced Partition Recovery application that can recover your lost data.

Consider a practical scenario, where you install a HP printer driver on your system. After the installation process is over and you restart your system, you encounter any of the below error messages: “Stop 0×000000e3 (0×81d534c8, 0×8210fc20, 0×00000000, 0×00000002) RESOURCE_NOT_OWNED” The four parameters in the above error message differ with system’s configuration. Or “STOP 0×000000E3 RESOURCE_NOT_OWNED” Data saved in the hard drive becomes inaccessible after any of the above error messages appears.

Cause:

The root cause for the occurrence of any of the above error message is the installation of Hewlett-Packard (HP) printer driver that contains the Hpbfff2.dll file.

Resolution:

To resolve the above issue and access the data, you need to update your computer to the printer driver included on the Windows 2000 Server CD-ROM. To do so, you will need to follow the below steps:

1. You need to click Start, select Settings, and then click Printers.

2. On the File menu, click Server Properties.

3. Click the Drivers tab and select HP driver in the installed printer drivers box that uses the Hpbfff2.dll file.

4. Click Remove, and then click OK. NOTE: To determine which files a driver is using, click the driver in the Installed printer drivers box, and then click Properties. The Driver Properties dialog box lists the files used by the driver.

5. Reinstall the printer by using the drivers included on the Windows 2000 CD-ROM.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each printer driver using the Hpbfff2.dll file.

7. Click Close. However, if all the steps fail to resolve the problem and you still encounter the same error message, then you need to opt for effective Partition Recovery Software.

“Multiple_IRP_Complete_Requests” Error Message in Windows XP and 2000

A device driver is program that enables you to control any hardware such as printer, hard drive, monitors, optical drives etc. attached to your system. In addition, it transfers the input/output commands of the operating system to messages that hardware component can easily understand. Device driver corruption primarily occurs due to unexpected system shutdown, operating system corruption, software bugs etc. In such situations, you might encounter a STOP error message, which halts the booting process of the system and makes the hard drive data inaccessible. To restore your lost data, you should use updated data backup. However, if no backup is available or the backup fails to recover the required data, you need to use advanced Data Recovery applications.

Consider a practical case, where you encounter the below STOP error message when you attempt to start a Windows XP or Windows 2000 based system:

“STOP: 0×00000044 (0×812790e8, 0×00000cca, 0×00000000, 0×00000000)
Multiple_IRP_Complete_Requests”

The four parameters in the above STOP error message differ according to the system configuration.

After the above STOP error message appears, system becomes unbootable and data stored in the hard drive becomes inaccessible.

Cause:

The above error message primarily occurs due to these reasons:

A device driver requested (by using the IoCompleteRequest function) that an IRP (Input/Output Request Packet) needs to be completed, but the packet has already been sent. A file named “Falstaff.sys” can be another major cause for the above error message. Installing “Intel Application Accelerator” in your system.

Resolution:

To resolve the above issue and access the data, you need to follow these steps:

Contact the vendor of the device driver and ask for a new and updated driver. Uninstall “Intel Application Accelerator” from your computer. Remove “Falstaff.sys” file from your system.

However, if the above measures fail to resolve the issue and you still encounter the same STOP error message, then you need to reinstall the operating system. A clean reinstall of the operating system will completely erase all the previously stored files and folders from the selected partition. For absolute recovery of lost files and folders, you should use advanced Data Recovery Software. These recovery utilities scan your hard drive by incorporating powerful scanning algorithms to recover and restore the lost data. A File Recovery application should provide advanced recovery features, detailed documentation and user-friendly interface.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is the most powerful Data Recovery tool. It provides complete recovery of lost, deleted and inaccessible data and partitions. This Data Recovery Software natively supports more than 300 widely used file types. It supports with FAT16, FAT32, vFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file systems. It is compatible with Windows Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000.

3 Additional Services You’ll be Happy to Have From your Offset Printer

The last thing you need to be is a penny wise and pound foolish when it comes to printing your marketing materials. Small businesses who think they can save more money printing in their home inkjet are likely to find in retrospect that they could have saved more on time and money from having their done with offset printing. In addition, there’s plenty of unaccounted for opportunity costs.

Many of the people you advertise to will read the implied message of your print ads sooner than they will your marketing message. A poorly printed brochure or flyer will reflect poorly on your work performance and the ability of your business to produce successful results.

Printing offset gives you consistent output with the same low cost. You can print several thousand pieces or a few hundred pieces and still get the same print quality from start to finish. Apart from that, the dynamics of bulk printing gives you better price deals as the volume of your print job increases.

More than the print quality and the discounts though, another advantage of working with a commercial printer is the expert advice they offer. They can suggest the right paper material, the finishing, and even help you with the design to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Here are a few services you may expect to find from a printing company:

1. Technical Support

For those working with an offset printer for the first time, there may be a lot of confusing technicalities to deal with such as image resolution, bleeds and allowances, or converting your files to CMYK. Make sure you find a printing company with a personalized technical support team who can walk you through the entire process.

2. Design Program

Online printing companies offer online design programs that makes it a lot easier for you to design your projects. They provide you with a gallery of templates for different industries so you can choose one that best fits your business description.

When you have found the template you need, you can simply input your data through their design program. You can move around fields, or delete unnecessary ones. You can even upload your own logo and other graphics.

3. Press Ready Proof

Before your design goes to press, proofing is your last chance to correct mistakes. The prepress department prepares this proof and gives remarks about the quality of your print. When the print resolution is to low, they will advise you to improve on the resolution before they proceed with printing.

They will also advise you with the correct bleeds and allowances. As big sheets of paper are stacked together during cutting, there is a chance that they will slide a little. This is why it is best to leave a .025 inch allowance for the trim line.

It is also your chance before offset printing to proof read your copy and make sure there are no typographical errors or grammatical mistakes. You should also make sure that all the elements you want are present in your print and are in the right position.

This writing provides information to the readers about Offset Printing processes and the products and services provided with the use of this printing method. To know more about Offset Printing you may visit Full Color Printing Wholesale

A Guide to Online Printers

There are a lot of companies in the Internet today that offer so many different services with just one click. Doing it online, you can buy virtually anything, as well as get tips and suggestions on any topic imaginable. One of these services that you can avail online is digital printers. From brochure printing to custom business cards, these online printers can provide you with printing samples so you can have an idea of their quality of work.

Through different websites, you can seek out different online printers where you can choose the most suitable partner for your print ad. Shopping is also made easy. Online printers can be found by just typing keywords in search engines such as Google. So if you’re looking for business card printing companies for example, just type “business card printing” and you’ll get different links for websites of these online printers.

Ordering is fairly easy. All you have to do is to follow these steps:

1- Pick a template.

Just like printing samples, online printers also provide templates that you can use for your marketing ad. You can choose from a wide range of brochure printing, custom business cards, full color posters, flyers, and even print calendar templates. Depending on your needs, the template can easily be customized to fit your requirements. There are also graphic images available that you can add to your design.

2- Choose the quantity, type of paper, and pricing options.

Also available online are different options for your paper stock, the volume of your print materials (whether in bulk), and the price for your print job. All these elements add to your printing costs, plus applicable taxes. This can be found on an online shopping cart provided in the online printer’s site.

Just remember that as with any other printing job, your costs decrease when you increase the quantity of your print job. In short, the more you order, the more you can save. But if you think you won’t be able to distribute a large quantity of print ad, then stick to a smaller number while keeping your costs low from the other elements.

3- Choose the shipping and method of payment.

As ordering online is done by clicking on your mouse in the comforts of your office or home, your online printer would somehow need to deliver your printed ads to you, hence the shipping method. Again, just like the printing samples, shipping, as well as the payment method, is provided in the website. All you got to do is to click on the most appropriate for your budget. But remember to approve first the final proof before sending your print job to the press. This would lessen errors, as well as ensure that you’re paying for quality end results.

When your print job is finished, all you have to do is to sit back and relax, and wait for your print ads to be delivered to your doorstep.

What To Ask Your Printer Before They Print Your Collaterals

Before you let your custom poster printing company put your collaterals to press, be sure to talk to your provider about these considerations so you’ll get the outcome you expect from the transaction:

Can you change the size?
You should know whether the poster printing company will allow you to do so because it can help you save money later on. The size matters when it comes to costs. The bigger your custom poster printing, the more expensive it is. Changing your size also means changing the press machine. If you want your posters to have a different size, can your provider print on a much smaller press? If so, will it be possible to save on costs? What about smaller print runs? Better get a company that specializes in print runs so you can have the best results for your ad.

Determine your print quality.
Ask for a quote for your print run as well as for “run-ons”. The latter are extended first runs so you’ll be able to know how much you can have according to your budget.

Consider making your own mock-up.
This way you can be sure to have the right specifications for your custom poster printing. Your provider won’t need to second guess your requirements as you already provided it for them. For better results, ask your provider instead to help you create your own dummy so you’ll be able to include the right pages, graphics and even the right text to convey your message.

Proofread. Check. Edit.
Proofreading and editing your ad before you have your provider do a press run can prevent errors from occurring during the printing process. This can also mean fewer errors in the final copy itself. The more you proofread and create an error-free ad, the better results you’ll have.

The quality of your paper stock.
Ask your print provider for the paper stock. The texture and opacity tells a lot about your image and professionalism. Ask for samples when you talk paper stock with your provider. You should see and feel firsthand the quality of your paper so you can choose the one that would best exemplify the image you would want to convey to your target clients with your poster printing.

Finally, the opacity of your paper stock can help you see whether your images would be seep through your pages when your printer gets them to press.
