Question from xinji374: Acer Aspire One NetBook connection problem.?
So my netbook has been acting up lately as the internet disconnects, and even if I restart the computer it doesn’t detect any signals. The connection light at the bottom right also stops flashing.
Thank You

if the light stops then it could be that either
1. u have a virus
2. call ur ISP
and of coarse i really recommend u call ur internet service provider. they should help you out more seen that it mostly might be a connection problem with the internet that u have. i u have a modem, turn it off and turn it back on. also, check your firewall.

Question from Alyssa: What is the difference between a Netbook and a regular computer?

A netbook is a small portable laptop computer designed for wireless communication and access to the Internet.[1]
Primarily designed for web browsing and e-mailing, netbooks rely heavily on the Internet for remote access to web-based applications[2] and are targeted increasingly at cloud computing users who require a less powerful client computer.[3] Netbooks typically run either Windows XP or Linux operating systems[2] rather than more resource-intensive operating systems like Windows Vista.[4] The devices range in size from below 5 inches[5] to over 13,[6] typically weigh 2 to 3 pounds (~1 kg) and are often significantly cheaper than general purpose laptops at US$ 400,[2] with some even in the US$ 50–100 range.[7]

I’ve had a few desktops but never a laptop and know nothing about them. I want a laptop or notebook that I can travel in a motorhome or camping around the country and need it to be able to pick up internet like from wi-fi hotspots as I travel. Or maybe also be able to put an internet card into it when I have money. Of course nothing too expensive. Thanks a lot for your help.

I am assuming you are talking about “netbook” not “notebook”.
A netbook has less processing power and resources than a notebook.
A netbook is designed for users who do not run many applications on the machine and primarily use it for browsing websites.
It is not meant to be used for running photo or video editing applications that require heavy computing resources.

There are programs out there that will recover deleted or lost files from SD cards. I recommend three programs, one of which is free. In our testing and from reader feedback, they work well.
Pandora Recovery
Art Plus Digital Photo Recovery
WinRecovery/CardRecovery

It sounds like something was removed/uninstalled but the start up entries were not removed. This is common when a virus is removed as well. You could download CCleaner from www.download.com and have it clean the registry. Just be careful, make sure that you make a backup of the registry when it asks you.

Question from pensburgh256: Dell Laptop problem, the battery warning light is blinking when it shouldn’t?
I own a Dell inspiron 1520 laptop, and today the battery warning light on the side of the laptop is blinking nonstop when plugged in. When the pc is turned off and I plug it into the wall the light blinks. When it is on the laptop appears to be running normally, but the light still blinks. Typically when the red light blinks my battery is almost dead, however the battery is at 100%.
I unplugged it from the wall before I went to bed last night. What’s going on with this light blinking non-stop?

I think it might be signalling that if you battery is not dead now it is well on it’s way to failing. You should give tech support a call about this if it is still under warranty. It might be covered, most likely it won’t be though.

Question from Nik: Sharing internet to Xbox 360 from laptop problem?
I have a laptop that doesn’t have wireless internet, so a wireless usb adapter is hooked up to it. But, when i plug in the ethernet cord from the xbox 360 into the laptop, the wireless adapter turns of. I guess the laptop thinks that its now getting its internet from ethernet so it shuts down wireless. And yes, i have enabled internet sharing on. It has windows xp.
