Question from beardedwalrus: BootMii issue “Dump is for a different Wii”?
Hey Guys,
I have bootmii installed as boot2. I have backed up my wii and now I want to restore it, but whenever I press the button to restore it bootmii says “Dump is for a different Wii”. It isn’t for another Wii because the files were backed up from the same Wii. Is there a remedy to this problem? If it matters at all my firmware is 3.2U and I am using a Lexar 1gb SD card.

Doing a Nand Backup on the newest beta 3, which dumps a Key.Bin and Nand.Bin i noticed your not able to restore. It gives the error this dump is from another Wii Which it is not.
So my question is why is the Keys not stored to the nand.bin like in the past, and sense they are now stored in the key.bin.
Why does bootmii still have the protection to check for the keys in the nand.bin.
I now there is ways around this by using a Hex editior, and adding the key.bin to the end of the Nand.bin so bootmii will accept it. But i also found a problem with the key.bin itself it needs a space between console and ID before you can add it to the end of the nand.bin using a hex editor otherwise you’ll still get the different wii error
Instructions to make a beta 3 dump usable for those that really need it
1. Open Key.bin in a hex editor look for the Word ConsoleID if you notice in the hex editor theres no space between console and ID there should be and sense theres not you will need to add this Space
To add a Space between Console and ID just put 20 in hex which is a Blank Space between Console and ID, without over writing any data and without moving all the data forward except the chunk your working on and hit save Now highlight and copy all of the 1024bits of the key.bin

2. Now Open up Nand.bin in the hex editor scroll down to the every end and hit paste, to copy all of the 1024bits of the key.bin. to the end of the Nand.bin and hit save
3. Now your Dump is usable
Heres the easier method thanks to IceFire sense i had no clue you could do this but you’ll still have to fix the error in the key.bin with the space between ConsoleID before you can do this
Put the files (keys.bin and nand.bin) in root of the SD card, then:
Windows:
1) Start -> Run -> cmd
2) Find the drive letter of your SD card, for example, F:.
3) Type this, replace the X with the drive letter: cd X:\
4) Type this: copy /b nand.bin + keys.bin nand.bin
5) ?????
6) PROFIT!!!
*nix (Mac and Linux):
1) Open a terminal.
2) Find the mount point of your SD card (/media/VOLUMENAME often on Linux, /Volumes/VOLUMENAME on Mac)
3) Type this, replacing MOUNTPOINT with the mount point of your SD card: cd MOUNTPOINT
4) Type this: cat nand.bin keys.bin > nand.bin
5) ?????
6) PROFIT!!!

I inserted my Netflix disc and it said that I need to update my Wii to play the disc. So I clicked update and it went through about half of the update and then this message came up: “Error has occurred. Press ejects, turn off Wii and troubleshoot.” Now it happens every time I try to play the disc. Help! THanks

All of the sudden the wii remote wont connect. All four blue lights blink but the screen doesn’t recognize it. I tried new batteries but got the same issue. Any suggestions?

Ok I re-synced the wii remote twice and it still won’t work. The batteries are fully charged and everything but it still won’t show up on the screen. I even unhooked and rehooked the plugs to the wii. Whats the problem with my 2 wii remotes?

Question from Oliver: How do I fix this problem with my Wii controller on Wii Sports Resort?
One of my controllers (with MotionPlus) works fine on other games and on the menus etc, but when you play a game on Wii Sports Resort the directions become inverted (I think). For example on the sword fighting the sword is continually lowered and is impossible to use properly. Re-calibrating does not seem to help.
Any ideas on how I might be able to fix this would be appreciated.

mines use to do the same thing set it down on a flat table or something and then it should work but keep it there for a min and leave it dont touch it i did that with mines and it works now

Well. When I first got the WII and tried to set it up. I wondered “how” the game disk went in. It got to the point where I just shoved it in. It was ALMOST un-get-out-able. But I could have. When I finally turned it on, which I later read, you must do first, the game disk went all the way in. But now there is no way to get it out. Eject won’t work. It doesn’t read the disk. I guess it can’t read it because of SOMETHING. But is there a way to get the disk out? Or am I going to need to ship it back and stuff..

y didnt u read the directions thats what tere there for 2nd alot of things ur saying isnt making since 3rd if u have a warranty and u open it it voids it so ship it back let them fix it
