Okay, I got an iPod touch 2G for christmas in 2008, and it had been working wonderfully until a week or two ago. A few weeks ago, whenever I would try to sync it to iTunes, my computer would recognize it as a camera. It gave me a few options as to which program I wanted to open it with, but since iTunes was not on the list, I pressed cancel.
Once I pressed cancel, another popup popped up and said that iTunes had an error and it had to close.
I have gone on the apple support website, I tried the five R’s (restart, reinstall, etc…) I have reinstalled iTunes (the latest version) at least three times, I updated my Quicktime, I restarted my computer countless times, and I even deleted all of the screenshots I took on my iPod. None of this has worked in the least.
I have seen a lot of questions nearly identical or similar to this one, and every answer has been to reinstall iTunes or Quicktime or use the Five R’s.
Since none of those worked, what should I do?
Any answers would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks!
~Charley

I can open the first page of a webpage but then I can go no further. For example I open yahoo no problem but when I try to click yahoo mail it stops receiving. I did have a virus and I think it changed kernal32 and something else
My computer is totally wacked. I turn it on and it says that there’s something wrong with the BIOS (I have no idea what that is) and to hit F2 to contine and I do but then something goes wrong and I get a blue screen so I restart my computer with the power button and it brings up the screen about the BIOS when it restarts but as its trying to do the next thing I hit F8 and then I choose to start windows normally and then my computer goes on. Once my computer is on its restarts randomly and is soslow. Also online, I can’t go to hardly any websites without this “Certificate error” thing. As far as virus protection I had Windows firewall and AVG (the free one) and this other lavasoft spyware thing. Well I ordered virus protection from Verizon but it wont download. It says to check my internet connection – which I’m pretty sure is fine. So, obviously there’s something wrong with my computer and so I download hijackthis. If someone could help me out I really appreciate it:

So I press F2 and the computer tries to do something but then I get a blue screen, so I turn my computer off with the power button and the next time after I hit F2 I hit F8 for advanced startup options and select start my computer normaly and then I can get on.
Also, when I start my computer, I get this anoying thing that pop-ups and says a key component wtk kernel is missing. The computer is also extremely sluggish and randomly shuts down. The time and date is also wrong and sometimes the screen randomly doesn’t turn on for a period of time, so I replaced the Cr2032 battery because I though there was something wrong with the BIOS, which I got a message before saying there was. I also put the BIOS settings back to the Default settings (and saved them) but it didn’t do anything.
Also, I orderd this virus protection from Verizon but it won’t download because theres an IE error. Speaking of which, I keep getting these certificate errors for almost every page I go on online. I also download hiijack this heres my log file if it helps…

Oh yeah one more thing… I tried to do a system recovery because my computer is inpossible and I don’t have that many files on it and I don’t mind formatting the drive, but then I got this message:
STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure}
The REgistry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\Ststem32\config\SECURITY
or its log or alternate
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable
So, I am totally stuck, I just want a working computer. Someone please help me… All these problems just recently started. Its always been kinda sluggish though. Please help…
i just made two movies in iMovie 6.0, and it lets me export them to my ipod, but it wont let me compress it into quicktime! i want to pu the videos on the web, but when i try to compress them, an error message appears:
The file could not be sent to quicktime because a file could not be found.
Please make sure that your project disk has write permission, and that you have enough disk space. This error can also be caused by some third-party iMovie HD plugins. If you have added plugins:
1) Quit iMovie HD.
2) Find your installed plugins. They’re usually in a folder called “iMovie” in your “Library” folder.
3) Rename the plugins folder “iMovie0”.
4) Launch iMovie HD and try sharing again.
When you’re done sharing, you may change the folder name back to “iMovie” so the plugins are available again.
Visit http://support.apple.com/ for more information on this issue.
so i tried that, but it didnt work, and the sit didnt say anything either, plz help!
So I was trying to update my itunes and kept getting errors. I went on to uninstall it and reinstall which normally works. But this time around, I got some error messages and it won’t install.
When it is installing, I get this message:
“An error occurred while attempting to create the directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\SyncServices\Schemas\iCal.syncshema\Contents\Resources\da.lproj”
I select retry in the window and it still doesn’t work so I press cancel. Then it continues and terminates the install with this message:
“The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2330.”
It then proceeded to install quicktime with no problems so I’m quite puzzled on what I can do here. I just want to listen to music and my podcasts!
If anyone can help me on this it would be greatly appreciated. I’ve looked through the forum and support things so I need some more guidance.
Thanks.
I just got it tonight and i’ve been tryng to get it to work for three hours now. I had one of the original ipod nano’s with the itunes and quick time. well i restored that to its original factory setting. then i tried to upload the itouch and it didnt do anything so i disconnected it. then went to the apple website and tried to download a new version of itunes, but it said error. then i deleted all the itus and quicktime things from my computer, restarted it and tried to do it again and it dint work..
