Question from pantsgirl23: How can I transfer songs to I-tunes on a new computer?
I just got a new computer and now I need to transfer my old songs from I-tunes onto the new computer. The problem is the disk drive on the old computer is broken so I can’t use that to help me. Thanks for your help!

When I open itnes it says itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close, I have tried reinstalling it and trying different websites to download if from and it says the same thing.

hmmm you may have downloaded and installed updates since time you installed it you may have to find a newer version or maybe your os(operating system) is incompatible from last time you installed itunes due to you downloading a newer version than possible for your os when you uninstall it just go ahead and make sur there is no trace of it on your hard drive … so go to……. start>>my computer >>> select primary hard drive … usually c:drive then go to >> program files and look in the list there will be a file that says .. (i tunes) DELETE IT it may contain hidden documents .. then try and reinstall it and see how you go don’t be afraid to delete things from your c drive .. just when you do make sure your deleting the right thing .. such as itunes
here is the steps again
start>>my computer>>local disc c>>program files>> delete iTUNES folder>>>reinstall iTUNES that should get you running again

I have an ipod which i gave to my friend to have her put music on it because my computer was broken, she has a mac. When i got my computer fixed and tried to put the songs from my ipod to my computer(microsoft) it said that it didint work because the songs were “mac formatted” how do i put the songs on my itunes or convert them so that i can play them on my pc?

Question from jess_falk: I tried opening iTunes but an error came up saying I need a new version of Quick time but I already have it?
The error is saying to either re-install iTunes, which I did but even then, I got the same error saying that I needed a new version of Quick-time. I re-installed a new version of Quick-time and it didn’t help. I even went to the apple website and clicked on the iTunes and Quick-time link to ‘repair any missing or damaged files’ and even THAT didn’t help. Is there anything else I can do?

Itunes 7.4.1.2 or higher has extracted a virus called Trojan Encryptor
uninstall it
and only use itunes from the ipod.

Go into program files\iTunes and fine iTunes.exe and run that and see if that works if it does make a new shortcut of that

The credit card is valid and I have used it to purchase items online a couple of times and I have never had this problem.
Is this a frequent problem with iTunes?
I entered the three digits in 4 or 5 times and still no luck.

Shouldn’t be a problem at all. I take it you are putting the correct 3 digits in?
I had no problems with my credit card when I set up my account on iTunes.

I have broadband, and I experienced trouble with an iTunes music store download a few months ago (after no problems with numerous downloads). I freaked out, of course, esp. since I wanted them right away and was worried about losing my money.
As is the solution to many problems, I walked away for a while, came back later, and all was well. Patience is a virtue? I don’t miss my dialup days . . .

So, for some reason iTunes won’t open whenever I click on it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times. I’ve repaired it, reinstalled quicktime, and restarted my computer. try exiting out of itunes, then reenter, plug in your ipod, and see if it says “synching in progress” or whatever it says. if that doesn’t happen, it may be on manual and you will have to drag and drop it yourself.
