iPod/Quicktime question?

i had a lot of songs on my itunes. then one day, itunes wouldn’t load and this error message came up onto my computer “Quicktime failed to initialize. Error #63441. Please make sure Quicktime is properly installed on this computer.” I went to the apple website and tried to reinstall itunes onto my computer, but while it is installing, it just says that it can’t download quicktime. What should I do? Will i lose all my songs on itunes?

Not if they are in your iPod. If they are, go to yamipod.com and download Yamipod and it will put your songs back into your computer.

No, you will not loose all your songs that you have placed on iTunes. This is because all your music is saved elsewhere on your hard drive that is in your computer.

_BUT_, If I was having the problem you are having, I would try doing this:

First, uninstall both iTunes and QuickTime in Add/Remove section in Control Panel. After it says that they have been installed, make sure that the iTunes and QuickTime folders have also been deleted in C:/Program Files folder. Once they have, it’s always best to restart the computer so you have a new System Restore point.

Then download and install the latest version of iTunes. QuickTime of course comes with it. This will reinstall both as if they have never been installed before. Open iTunes and tell it to add just a single video file to test it. If the video plays, then you are good and you can then add all your music and videos again. If it doesn’t, there is something else going on in your computer that is making these programs not work properly. Good luck.
